Keeping-in-Touch

This was taken in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona. I saw the man using his mobile phone from one of the upper floors and I liked the patterns created by the light shining through the windows.

There was a white wall in the top right hand corner the image so I selected part of the floor in front of him and I copied this to a separate layer and moved it to remove the wall (see the original image below). Selection of parts of other areas of the floor and copying them onto other layers and adjusting the brightness of them was also used to adjust the lighting. The rest of the processing consisted of using the Viveza filter to adjust the lighting further and clone layers to remove minor distractions.

Glamour Glow was used to give it a slightly ethereal feeling. Finally, it was sharpened using the high pass filter.

This image has had 3 international acceptances including the Welsh International Salon 2012.

Nikon D700, 28 – 300 mm Nikkor lens at 150 mm, ISO 320, f/5.6, 1/250 sec.
